Bybit Review 2025 - Bitcoin margin trading platform

In this article, I will give you a detailed review of Bybit’s trading platform and how it compares to its competitors such as Bitmex and Deribit.

Also later in this article, I will reveal a secret to getting up to $90 free bonus on Bybit to start practicing trading on Bybit. Or if you are a seasoned trader that does not need to practice anymore then free money never hurts, right? So let’s get to it.

Bybit Exchange

Bybit is a cryptocurrency margin (leverage) trading exchange. Bybit has been around since March 2018 and has quickly gained popularity due to its beautiful looking user interface, fantastic customer support and unbelievable trading engine speed. Bybit currently supports trading 4 different cryptocurrencies against the US Dollar (USD). These cryptocurrencies are BTC (Bitcoin), ETH (Ethereum), XRP (Ripple) and EOS.

So what does that mean?

That means Bybit allows you to use up to 100x leverage to take bitcoin (or ETH, XRP, EOS) long and short positions. Using shorting (or short selling) you can profit from when the price moves downwards and vice-versa from longing if the price moves upwards. Using high leverage can be both - very rewarding and very dangerous.

Let’s take a look at a few examples:

If you are longing Bitcoin with 20x leverage and the price moves up 1% then you will make 20% profit on your investment (ROI). But if the price moves down 1% then you will lose 20% of your investment.

The same goes for shorting Bitcoin with 20x leverage - if the price moves down 1% then you will make 20% profit, but if the price goes up 1% then you will lose 20% of your investment.

There are many calculators available (under the category Calculators) on this site to help you easily calculate your risk and rewards.

If you have ever used either Deribit or Bitmex then you should feel comfortable using Bybit as well.

Despite the fact that Bybit is a new exchange they have a decent amount of liquidity. I don’t think anyone that is trading with under a million worth of Bitcoins should be worried about the liquidity at all. There has only ever been a single time ever that I have had slippage with my order ($40 slippage) and they even refunded me for that - how amazing is that?

Also, Bybit has never suffered from any weird “wicks” that get you liquidated like Deribit and Bitmex both have. Honestly, Bybit’s trading engine is top-notch and props to the guys over there that created it.

Bybit's Customer Support

I honestly believe Bybit has the best customer support of any leveraged trading exchange (Bitmex and Deribit included). I have contacted their live customer support many times and they have always helped me very quickly and professionally.

One time during a $1000 Bitcoin move my order had a $40 slippage (this has only happened once) and they actually refunded the difference for me - honestly, no other exchange will ever do that for you.

Bybit is known for its great customer support and I think this should be one of the key reasons why you should pick Bybit over something as shady as Bitmex. There have been multiple liquidation wicks in Bitmex and they have never refunded any of their users, not to mention Bitmex leaked all of their customer e-mails in October 2019.

Bybit Fees

Bybit’s fee structure is very similar to Bitmex’s fee structure. Bybit takes fees when you use market orders, 0.075% of the order size, and pays a rebate, 0.025% of the order size when using limit orders. Yes, that is right, you actually earn money while using limit orders at Bybit.

Bybit Mobile App

In November 2019 Bybit released a mobile app for its customers. Bybit’s mobile app supports both Android and iOS users.

Using their mobile app you can:

  • Add, remove and manage your orders
  • Set stop loss and take profit orders
  • Get notifications about Bitcoin’s price or your order statuses

Bybit vs Bitmex Comparison

Bitmex is known for its huge slippages and overloads. Whenever there is a big move happening with Bitcoin’s price you simply cannot modify, create or remove your orders at Bitmex. The great news is that this will not happen in Bybit.

Bybit claims that their trading engine can do over 100,000 transactions per second, while it is estimated that Bitmex’s trading engine can only do 500 transactions per second. If you are someone looking to take advantage of price movements as they happen - this is something you should seriously take into consideration.

Bitmex still has better liquidity than Bybit, but if you are not someone trading with millions then this is not something that you should worry about.

Bybit review conclusion

Honestly, I cannot see any reason why someone would pick anything other than Bybit if you are looking to margin trade Bitcoin.

I have never had a single issue with overloads or my account with Bybit, their customer support is amazing and responds in real-time.

Also since November 2019, Bybit offers cross margin like Bitmex, which is even more amazing as this was their only downside compared to Bitmex that I could think of before.
